Guardian Home Program
Here at Salt Lake Golden's guardian homes are a crucial piece of our program! We believe all of our dogs deserve loving forever homes. Because we choose not to kennel our dogs or rehome our retired moms and dads we have decided to utilize guardian homes. A guardian home is a permanent home for one of our breeding males or females.
Becoming a guardian home gives you the opportunity to have one of our quality puppies or young adults as a family pet while they remain in our program for up to 4 litters or the age of 5 for females & up to the age of 6 for males. Salt Lake Goldens will retain all rights to the dog. We reserve the right to cancel our guardianship program at any time if we deem it necessary. When they retire they will be neutered or spayed at our expense and will get to retire with their family.
As a guardian home, you will be required to pay a deposit of $500 for your puppy that will be refunded when they retire from our program. You will also be required to pay for the everyday expenses of owning a dog including annual wellness exams, vaccines, food, etc. We will pay for all breeding-related expenses.
Perks of being a guardian home include:
-
Having a quality well-bred AKC golden retriever for a fraction of the cost.
-
We are happy to be your built-in dog sitter when you go on vacation! This must be scheduled in advance and is limited to our schedule.
-
All of the dog's health testing will be paid for by us! you can rest assured knowing we will only breed a dog in a guardian home once they have passed health testing.
-
If you are a guardian home for a female you will be compensated $50/puppy once her puppies go to their forever homes. You are also welcome to schedule a visit while she is with us to meet and play with her puppies!
